Nurture Your Whole Self
About
I became a Registered Nurse in 1997 and have worked in a variety of settings that include hospital postoperative and short stay units, surgery centers, urgent care facilities, an apheresis cell collection and infusion unit, hospital medical and surgical floors, and clinics. I specialize in surgical recoveries and have earned ACLS, PALS, and CPAN certifications. From orthopedic, neuro, general, plastic, and oral surgery to urology, internal medicine, and pediatrics, my nursing background is quite diverse. I have also volunteered as a volleyball coach and as a member of a charter school board and committee.

I have always lived in the beautiful state of Oregon, and my favorite hobbies are camping, gardening, reading, and spending time with my husband, grown children, and pets.

Many years ago, I had an idea to write a novel that was clean, faith-based, and could be enjoyed by teens and adults. Beyond Ikenick Creek is a fictional story set in the Cascade Mountain Range of Oregon. It was published in 2016 by Christian Faith Publishing and was a Cascade Awards Finalist in 2017. It is available on Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and through my website at traceymayfield.com.

My goal is to provide people with the information they need to promote optimal health for their body, mind, and soul. Since I specialize in postoperative care, my Postop Healing page has helpful tips and links to equipment and supplies that can be beneficial for surgical healing. Always check with your surgeon to ensure that their specific instructions are followed. I wish you all a speedy recovery and a lifetime filled with health and happiness.
